Missions and Evangelism Committee

Purpose/Mission Statement: Purpose is to reach out with the Good News of Jesus Christ and His Church.  Includes:

1. The Orthodox Bookstore - Although the Bookstore is only open after Liturgy on Sunday, it does offer mail service for any requests for items from tapes and CD’s to children’s books, information, and icons.  Print-outs of the above items are available upon request. Visit the Bookstore.

2. Agape Canister Project - The Agape Canister Program is a Pan Orthodox effort to collect monies for the work of Orthodox Missions around the world.  The canisters are placed in businesses of Orthodox parishioners or other community businesses.  The committee members collect the monies in the community where they live.

3. Welcoming Committee - The three major responsibilities of the Welcoming Committee are to: Welcome new members to our parish; Welcome guests – both Orthodox and non-Orthodox – to our Church service and to tours of our Church; and, Welcome Baby – an offer of assistance to families as the baptism of a child approaches.

Time Commitment: Meetings are called as needed.

Membership: To all interested in furthering the Orthodox faith.

Visitation Committee

As an Orthodox Christian Outreach of the Ladies Philoptochos Society; the Visitation Committee offers love, fellowship and encouragement to the faithful who are homebound, in hospitals and in nursing homes.  Our devoted ladies visit monthly and offer the love and prayers of our Church Parish.

Grief Share

Grief Share is a Church support group that offers our parishioners an opportunity to share their feelings related to their loss of a loved one. We meet monthly…the second Wednesday…offering fellowship, support, guest speakers and refreshments.  We are family, especially when we grieve and need one’s encouragement. The group is an outreach of the Ladies Philoptochos Society.

Orthodox Library

In 2006, the Annunciation established a Library in the James W. Pihos Cultural Center with over 1200 volumes. This resource is rich with material to edify anyone who is seraching to grow one's faith. Not only is there material for adults, but also a special section for children.
